Play Date!

Well we had a play date today with Kyla's best friend Emily. Which worked out really great. Her mommy is pregnant with baby number 3 and they also have a little girl about Laney's age. We went to the Science Spectrum. It is such a wonderful place and we finally got to see the newest water works exhibit which is really messy and lots of fun. The girls loved it. Well we got to pack lunches in our new lunch boxes which they loved and then we got to see the repitle show. We had the chance to pet lizards and snakes but we didn't. (That was very much to the excitment of their mommy.)

Well it has been a very uneventful week so far which I quess is a really good thing. We are just in countdown mode until the little makes its apperance.

Will It Ever Stop?

Well this is the last week before we start back to our preschool. The girls are really excited and the both really like their teachers. This week we are running a practice schedule so that we are not late for preschool. So far I don't think it has worked out that well, but we are trying. I will be starting my second year as an infant class teacher at SNS and I am really excited. We have written some new curriculum and I really like it. The bonus is I get to be really close to my new little one.

Kyla is counting down the days until the baby comes she is getting so excited and I know she will make a wonderful big, big sister. Laney is already having a few issues, but I know it will all be ok. I have my next appointment with my high risk specialist on Sept. 5. We are really hoping to find out for sure what we will be having, (I am betting that we won't find out until it makes its apperance). Kyle and I are ready for our little one, we have less the 9 weeks and we just can't wait. We did have a small scare yesterday and I got to spend some time in labor and delivery because I passed out in my bathroom. The nurse said that is normal this late in pregnancy and I should not be concered unless it happens several more times. I feel like I am getting biger by the day. It is really taking me a lot longer to get up and at it though.

Last week Kyla turned 4 I can't believe that she is getting so big. Next year she will be in Kindergarten and I just can't believe that she is already so big. She had a wonderful birthday party with lots of her friends. She also got her big girl bike which she was very excited about it.

Well now we have hit the new topic of halloween costumes. Kyla keeps changing her mind day to day. Laney will just be happy with whatever and the baby is just going to reuse Laney's old costume and be a football. Kyla keeps telling me that if the baby is a girl then it can't be a football, because footballs are for boys. So it will be interesting to see what we end up doing for halloween. That is if we get to do halloween since that is the day the baby is due, but we shall see. Well I guess I have talked enough for today. Have a wonderful week

I Am So Bad at This

Well I am terrible about getting on here and keeping everyone updated. Since Kyla's surgery life has really not slowed down any at all. She recovered really well and it seems that the surgery has worked! Praise God.

We are now awaiting the arrival of our new little one. As I wrote in a previous blog we are having a girl, they may not be true. They are less than 40% sure that it is a girl and we have been unable to get another good look at the baby. We go in for another u/s on Sept. 5 we are hoping to find out something then. (We are really hoping that God blesses us with a boy, for Kyle's sake more than anything). We first an foremost want a healthy happy baby though! We have the names picked out, our girl name is Madisyn Hope and our boy name is Korbyn Robert. We are getting very anxious and the girls are getting really excited. Kyla is more excited than Laney I think. I really don't think Laney wants to share her mommy.

Well so far the month of August has been a very busy one. We have already had two bithday parties and we will have one more this week. We took a mini vacation to Abilene at the begining of Aug. and the girls had a wonderful time. We went to the Zoo and just spent some time together. We were only there for a day but we had a great time and realized we still miss Abilene a little. (Don't get us wrong we would not trade anything for getting to be as close as we are to our families now.)

Well life has been really busy and we are now getting ready for another year at SNS. We are very excited and Kyla and Laney both have learned so much. It is amazing how much they really learn. Kyla can count to 13 in spanish and knows most of her colors is spanish as well. The first time she did that I was so shocked but I guess by babies won't stay babies forever. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I am honestly going to try and keep everyone updated more often.

Another Update!

Hey all Kyla had a rough start to the day yesterday, but she finished it up really well! She ate and walked yesterday and I think we may get to go home today! It will be nice to get her home where mommy can take really good care of her. I will say this has been a tough week. I never realized how tough of a little girl we really have, but she was determined to get up and walk yesterday and she did!

News on the baby front. I can really feel Madison moving now and the past couple of days she has given me a good kick just when I need it. She has kinda been mommy's little cheerleader! I go back to the doctor on the 13th for a check up maybe I will finally get to hear the heart beat. We also have a follow up ultrasound with the high risk fetal specialist on the 25th. He is going to check Madison's heart again as well as check her kidney function to make sure she doesn't have the same problem as Kyla. Well that is all for now I am going to try and get some sleep but for some reason I am having a little trouble. Have a great Wednesday and I will give you and update ASAP!

It's Finally Over

Well we have finally had our surgery. It went really well, but it has been kind of a hard night. Kyla was out of surgery and into her room between 4 and 4:30. Everyone left and let her so she could get to sleep. The nurse told me that Kyla had to go to the bathroom before midnight or she would get a cath. we all know we don't want one of those. Well needless to say we finally got her to go and she is sleeping away. She is in a little pain and we got her some meds to help her sleep. I just want to say she has been such a trooper, and I am so proud of her. She keeps asking to go home and I understand that she wants to be in her own bed, but I am just praying for a quick recovery. From my understanding we will be in the hospital about 2-3 days. I will say she is getting spoiled rotten. Well I just wanted to share what was going on in the hospital today. Everyone have a great night and I am going to try and get some sleep now.

Its Been A While

I haven't posted in forever! So everyone get comfortable I have lots to say. Well Kylas surgery is monday and I am so nervous right now. We took a tour of the childrens hospital this week so Kyla could see where she will be staying. She will be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days. This is a scary and emotional time but I think it is 10x's harder because I am preggo. Well I just wanted to let everyone know, if you don't know already (drum roll please.........) we think we are having another girl. Madison Hope is her name and she is due in Oct.

Life has been so crazy busy. We are teaching on Wednesday nights and we are Class leaders with another couple on Sunday mornings. I am on the childrens ministry team, and I teach at our churches MDO which also has a summer program. (Lets just say when we pulled up to church on Wednesday Kyla said hey this is where we live). I at first thought it was funny, I guess I still do, but I was really thankful that she didn't say that about Walmart).

Kyle's niece Kenna is having a baby any day now or scheduled for induction on Monday. We have decided that we are a family that plans well. Since everyone is going to be in Lubbock for the surgery, Kenna might as well have her baby that day, so everyone can save gas. Another one of Kyle's nieces Menda is getting married at the end of June, and ofcourse my girls are flower girls. Kyla is now a pro at being a flower girl, this will be her fourth wedding.

Well that is a quick recap of the James families busy life over the past month. Enjoy your weekend.

Kyla Update

Well we had our final test done today on Kyla's kidney. We have a birth defect in her left kidney. She has an extra artery that provides blood to her kidney, because of this extra artery her ureter (I hope that is spelled right) loops around it so we have to get that fixed. So sometime this summer Kyla will have surgery on her kidney and she will be in the hospital for three days. Pray for our family as we make plans for this and pray for the doctor. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I cannot belive how busy we have been. Right now it seems like once a week we are in the doctors office for one thing or another. Kyla is on her second round of antibiotics for an ear infection, the doctor was looking at her file and thinks that her ear infections are caused by allergies. Well why were at the doctor for Kyla she decided she would just check out Laney while we were in there.... well Laney has a double ear infection as well and her asthma is still flared up pretty bad, so Laney is on an antibiotic for her ear infection we are taking a daily medicine to keep her asthma under control and she has her allergy medicine and now we have two medicines to put in her nebulizer. We are doing her breathing treatments once a day right now. YIKES!!!!!!

Well I have my first appointment next week I can't wait! I keep having a dream that we are having twins. That freaks me out a little but Kyle said that would be fine with him. He really wants a boy this time. I am hoping for a boy too, but above all I just want a happy healthy baby. My morning sickness is starting to get better, I can actually eat now. I hate the fact that life has become so busy that I don't have as much time to blog.

I have a great weekend ahead of me! I won a raffle at the Hockey Game so on Saturday a limo will be coming to my house a 4:45 to pick up Kyle and I and take us to Texas Roadhouse where we get a free dinner for 2. After dinner the limo will pick us up and take us to the Hockey game where we get two team jerseys signed by the team and two tickets for Ice box seats! After the hockey game the limo will pick us up and take us back to our house where we will load up our stuff for a free nights stay at the Residence Inn here is Lubbock. It will be so nice to have a night to relax, my sister will be keeping the girls (Thanks for That). Well eveyone have a wonderful day!

Laney

Well after we have finished all the testing with Kyla we find out that Laney has RSV. We spent over 3 hours in th doctors office today trying to keep her out of the hospital. Her oxygen level was at an 82 but we finally got it back up to a 90. We are giving her breathing treatments every 3 to 4 hours which is taking its toll on Mommy. We are doing our best to keep our spirits up but with the week we have been through it has been tough. I am so glad I have this as an outlet. It is wonderful to share this with all of you because you are all such great friends and we know that we can share this with you guys. Thanks for reading.

Kyla Update

Well we finished everything yesterday and Kyla was such a trooper. After meeting with the doctor yesterday the test came back abnormal, but the doctor is not sure about what is exactly wrong with Kyla's kidney. So on April 4th we will undergo another test called an IVP which should be a little less painful for Kyla. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers we will continue to keep everyone updated.

Kyla's Upcoming Tests

Well recently we have been to see another doctor about Kyla's kidney. Come to find out he thinks he knows what is wrong, so we are undergoing one me test. We will be going to the hospital tomorrow and they will insert and IV and a Cath. Then they will give her some fluids and then inject a radioactive tracer. After this they will giver her something to make her pee and then we will take some x-rays. Depending on the results of this test Kyla may have to have surgery. Please everyone pray that everything goes smoothly. I will give everyone an update as soon as we find out something which should be tomorrow about 3:15 Thanks for all of your prayers.

Weather

We have really enjoyed the cold weather. All we have done is sat together around our fire place. There is more than one reason for this, because of the ice storm we have decided to stay in and not venture out. (Lubbock drivers are idots and don't realize that you have to slow down to drive on ice). It has been really nice to slow down and just enjoy time as a family, I do have to say it has become a little much for the girls because they want to go and play outside. If it was snow we would probably let them but the fact that it is just a solid sheet of ice we decided that we would save the ice skating for the ice rink. Well I just wanted to say I am loving the cold weather!!!

Anne to answer your questions Ashley is due sometime in March, but right now it is looking like they will induce on the 14 or 22 of February. Thanks for all of the advice on how to deal with Lacy, I really appreciate it.

Family

I think that everytime I turn around something is going on with my family. For those of you who don't know my little brother and his wife are expecting a baby, but due to her blood sugar levels they have encountered some problems and she has been in the hospital twice now. We pray that eveything goes well but they are having a hard time keeping her blood sugar levels down. Pray! Pray! Pray!

Then last night I had a talk with my little sister, her and jeff are having some fertility problems. This is really hard for her because as you all know Kyle and I have had no problems and My brother and his wife have had no problems. She cried last night as we talked, I tried to comfort her the best I could. I know it is hard for her to share all of this with me. I told her that God has a plan for her life and maybe now is just not the right time for them. Lacy and Jeff are planning to move to Denver CO. sometime in the summer, and I tried to explain to her that moving and being pregnant is not easy and maybe their time will come when they get settled and have made friends in Denver. She said she understood but I really wish I had some other way to help her. Kyle and I have tossed around the idea of trying for baby #3 in February, but after all of this I am starting to change my mind. Lacy and Jeff have been trying since they got married, and if we were to get pregnant now I think it would really be hard for Lacy to handle. This has really been hard for me.

Well anyway here is what is on my mind today.
TTFN!

Long Time

I feel like it has been forever since I have been on here! Life has just not slowed down though, there is all the hustle and bustle getting ready for Christmas and it has come and gone. So much has happend in the last month it has been so crazy! For those of you who don't know Kyla recently had an unltrasound done on her kidneys, after that test we are being sent to a specialist. I am not sure when our appointment is but we are just ready to find out what is wrong. My aunt also passed away after Christmas and we spent time trying to explain it to Kyla but I really don't think she understood.

We had a wonderful Christmas! My girls got tons of toys (which now we are looking for places to put). It was really nice just being at home for Christmas, we really haven't got to do that since we have been married. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I would just like to let all of you from Abilene know that we really miss you guys, I wish we got to talk to you more.

God Bless
Paula
