Jesus Is The Reason For The Season

I started thinking about that saying today! Kyla was talking about Christmas and how Santa was going to bring her candy and presents. This upset me a little bit. Have I failed to teach my child the most important thing of the holiday season? I know she is still young and that all that she sees and hears is Santa this and Santa that. I understand that Santa is a very big deal to her and all of her friends, but how do I teach her that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because It is Jesus' birthday. That seems to be sometimes forgot in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Don't get me wrong we always read the Christmas story, and our newest tradition of reading the Tale of Three Trees. We talk about the special baby and the great and blessed way he came into the world. I am going to try really hard this year to let Kyla see that Christmas is not just about the new toys and all the candy, but that it is about a special baby, Jesus. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can make Christmas more than just about the presents?

By the way as of 10:44 p.m. Christmas is only 38 days 1 hour and 16 min. away!!

Where Has The Time Gone?

I can't believe that it has almost been a month since I have been on here. Life has just not slowed down. I am always working on stuff for the preschool, we have to turn in lesson plans with examples of all of the hand work we are going to be doing. It is such a huge task trying to keep up with everything and get everything turned in.

There has been a lot of stuff happen since I was on here last, my dad lost his job but he has a new job here in Lubbock which he started today! (We couldn't be happier!) I have stepped down from the nursery commitee at church, it was taking up more time than I liked, and the other ladies on the committee were always stressing out over the smallest details. (Yikes!) So now Kyle and I are working in the children's ministry with the 2yr -5yr old age group.

Kyle's sister had part of her full hip replacement surgery done today it took eight and a half hours!!!!! She will not be able to put any pressure on her left foot for 12 weeks. They plan to do the right side in about 4-6 months. She has a long road ahead of her. On top of everything else her daughter is expecting her first child in June! Our kids will finally have someone to play with at family functions.

My girls are growing like weeds and Kyla is getting so excited about seeing Santa Clause. She wakes up every morning asking to go and see him. Laney is getting so big, and she is so independent. She wants to be a big girl just like her sister. With her getting so big and everyone around us getting pregnant we are getting baby fever in our house. Well that is all for tonight I have to get everything ready for school tomorrow. I hope to post again soon.

Halloween

Well we had finally decided on costumes for the whole family, Paula was going to be a dog, Kyle was going to be a fire hydrant, Kyla was going to be a cat and Laney was going to be a bee. Well since the Kyla was in the wedding Uncle Marcus gave her a beautiful Belle dress from the Disney Store. We don't want to waste it becasue it is so beautiful so we decided that Kyla gets to be Belle she is very excited that she gets to wear the dress because she loves it so much. So thank you Marcus and Ashley she really loves her dress.

On to another subject we had a wonderful day today. We had a girls day and went to the Science Spectrum and played for a little while, it will be a lot better when they get finished with the new exhibits. (They look very interesting). It was really nice to just spend some time with my girls today, we have not spend time together like that in a while. I think I am relaxing a little more scince I am done with a majority of my work for the time being. We had a wonderful day check back tomorrow because I am sure I will have something to share with you.

He Finally Tied The Knot

Well for all of you who don't know, my little brother has finally married the women of his dreams Ashley. We lets just say this was not an easy task, but we got through it, and it is finally over. I now just pray that they get there little boy here. (If you didn't know Ashley is Pregnant). Well life is back to normal..... again, if there really is a normal. I am still loving my job, and Kyla loves her teacher Mrs. Shelly she is great with Kyla and God really blessed us with such a loving caring person to care for my child when she is at school. Kyle and I are throwing around the idea of adding to our family in the near future, needless to say with everyone around us getting pregnant we are both getting a touch of baby fever. It doesn't help that Laney has gotten so big so fast. Well just to let you all know a little bit of our lives. I will post again soon. (By the way pray for my father, because he will be preaching at a church this Sunday October 22). God bless, everyone have a wonderful week.

Back To Normal

Well with everything that has been going on lately, life is finally getting back to normal. On September 30 our family ran in the "Race for the Cure", it was an amazing day, and it was really neat to see all the ladies in pink shirts. They have such an amazing spirit, ofcourse my family ran in celebration of Kyle's mom. We are currently getting ready for my baby brothers wedding on the 14th, Kyla is really excited about being the flower girl. (My Grandmother, Kyla's GiGi is making her dress it is going to be really beautiful). This weekend Kyle and I are going to the Tech Game (Go Red Raiders!) it is homecoming. We also found out this week that Kyle's niece is expecting her first child, we are so excited because now when we have family functions our kids will have somone to play with. This is Birthday month in our house Kyle's birthday is on the 20th and mine is on the 24th, so ofcourse we have big plans, we are actually going to get a night to ourselves. Have a good week everyone, thanks for reading.

Kyla's Update

It was a tramatic day but we all survived. They did an MRI on Kyla instead of the CT scan. We had to hold her down while they started her IV, yikes but she was a champ. We got the results this morning and everything looks ok. The cyst is not in any muscle, it is just under the skin so they will not have to remove it. Praise God! On the other hand they saw something with her kidney's that has them a little bit worried. Her left kidney seems to be larger than the other, so in about a month we will have to get an ultrasound done on her belly. They want to make sure that it wasn't a side effect from the drugs, so keep on praying. On that note keep Laney in your prayers as well she has been sick for a week now. Other than that we are very thankful for our results and would like to thank everyone for their prayers.

We Need Your Prayers

This has been a long tough week. On Thursday we found a lump on Kyla's back. (Freaked Mom out). We called the doctor immediately because for sometime now Kyla has been complaining that her back hurt, but we can never find out what is wrong. Well come to find out the doctor thinks that it is probably a cist on her spine. So on Wednesday Kyla will be having a CT scan. We will have to do this outpaitent because they will have to sedate her, also freaked mom out. Kyla not sure whats going on she just knows that lots of people have been looking at her back. Depending on what they find in the scan will depend on the treatment. They will have to determine how deep it is, and if it will cause problems later on. Luckly we caught it before it was too big. So we are asking everyone to pray that things go well. We know God will take care of our baby, but I am a mommy I can't help but worry. I will keep everyone up to date on the situation. Thanks in advance for all of your prayers.

Paula Was Arrested

OK guys this is just for fun. A friend of mine is doing this on her myspace and I thought it was funny. Here is how to find out what you were arrested for the google way: type "your name was arrested for" (Make sure and use the quotation marks)! Copy and paste into my comments. Here is mine:
Paula was arrested for biting her boyfriend.Paula was arrested for prostitution, loitering, and hitchhiking 78 times. In 1989, she served a two-year prison term for attempting to burglarize a house. Wow I served a two year prision term when I was only 10. Ok so maybe it is late and I am tired.

Why Can't We All Just Get Along

Here lately everytime I turn around, someone is calling me and telling me so and so did this. Life is not fair things happen, but it is how we handle things that really show the kind of people we really are. I am not perfect (of-course we all know that). I know things happen for a reason, and I have heard if it doesn't kill us, it only makes us stronger. I sure we can all quote 600 sayings just like that. I have just about had it. I am really not sure what else to say. My heart is just sad I quess. I hate seeing people that I love get hurt. Life happens, we just have to open our eyes and look for those blessings, (sometimes they are obvious, sometimes not). I know this is a strange post but I quess this has just been a strange day.

I've Been Tagged

Ok Anne here it is. (My computer is near Kyle's bookcase so I reached over and grabbed a book). "The Gospel According to The Simpsons"
"But the minister comes up short when he points toward the other firefighter, Apu Nahaasapeemapetilon. After a non-plussed paus the minister chatacterizes the covenience store operator's religion as "miscellaneous." This level of ignorance is too much for the normally mild-mannered Asian immigrant.
Wow that was interesting!

Better Day!!!

Well I am having a much better day today. We have now finished our first week of school. It went better than I thought it would. Kyla is really having fun in her class and she like her new teacher Ms. Shelly. Laney has adjusted really well, she is the only one who doesn't cry (which is a huge relief after the drama we went through with Kyla). My parents seem to be doing really well, considering. My friend Jennifer has been a real blessing this week, she always seems to know when I need a friend to talk to. I am so blessed to have the friends and family that I have. Kyle's parent are enjoying the cruise. Everyone is so amazed that they have been married for 50 years. Congrats by the way. Life could not be better. I have a wonderful husband who makes sure that he has dinner ready when we get home on T/Th. I work until 5:30 so it is really a long day for us all. Thanks for all your prayers and continue to pray for my parents as they try to figure out the next chapter in their lives. Anne thanks for all your encouragement, it is really nice to be talking to you again, I hope all is well with our family. I hope Natalie is loving YCW!

Why?

I know that is a weird title, but I have been going through a period of reflection the past week. The number one thing on my mind is my parents, they are handling this latest thing in their lives like champions. They are taking it all in stride, and they now know who their true friends are. The number two thing on my mind is why am I so busy that when my daughter asked me to play with her I replied "Go play baby, mommy is busy." How busy can I really busy that I don't have time to play with the most precious gift that anyone could ever receive. Why do overload ourselves with things that don't matter. God and then famlily is the order things should go, but here lately it has been everything else then family and then God. I know that we have to make an effort to do things our way and not the way that everyone else does, but it just seems like I will never get anything done if I put my family first. Things are going great and I know that God will only give us things we can handle. I do have to say one thing I thought that I had lost a vey good friend, but a week ago we finally got in touch. I do have to say I have really missed her friendship. I am so glad that now I can talk to her on occasion. The third thing on my mind is Words really can hurt. (Only a few of you will know what this is about.) Why would someone who claims to love their child so much, bash their father in a way for the whole world to see. My idea of that would be protecting my child whenever I could. I would also for the love of my child give them the opportutnity to get to know their father, and form their own ideas about their father and not feed them My Man Hating Man Bashing Ideas. No one will ever be the perfect father, but I would for the love of my child let her father try. I am sorry for all of this but I just had to get it out.

My Fathers Needs Your Prayers

A little bit ago, I received a phone call from my father. He has been fired from his church job. There was really no reason, they gave him a month in their house. They really have no plans right now, it is all just a big shock. My father is a wonderful pastor and has such a heart for the Lord. He deserves better than this. He wants everyone to know about the Lords amazing grace and abundant love. Pray that my family gets through this smoothly. He is a true man of God with a heart for the lost. Pray that he gets the perfect job at a church that is willing to reach beyond their front doors and witness to those who need it most. Your prayers are greatly appreciated and I will keep you all posted.

Mommys School Jitters

Well Today was very busy. I had my final workday before Sugar -N- Spice starts on Tuesday. I really can't wait I think Kyla will have lots of fun and this will be a good thing for Laney (though I think she will really miss her big sister). My classroom is all ready and I can't wait. I know Kyla is ready because today as I dropped her off she looked at me and said "Ok Mom you can go, I have to play with my friends." Both girls are doing wonderful, they are both growing by the day. Kyla gets to go on her first field trip this year. (Mommy is really nervous) They are taking my baby to the fair. YIKES, but I think her Nana might go along to ease my fears.

The Terrible Window

Well not much is happening around here. We are getting ready for SNS to start. I am really excited I think Kyla will have a good year. We have had a couple of problems, Kyla has developed a fear of the window in her bedroom. I think it is she is scared of the tree outside her window, needless to say she will not go in there by herself. We are dealing and she is in there sleeping right now. Laney is getting in new teeth, and most of you know that is not always a pleasant experiance. Since the doctor put her on that new asthma medicine she is doing much better. (Thank You Lord)

I also wanted to say we are very excited to have Ashley joining the family. Marcus finally brought home a girl we all like. Yeah for us we will have good holidays. It's not too often that both sisters are happy with the girl, but I guess when he found the right one we all knew.

Check back tomorrow for any new news. I am sure we will have a funny story to share.

Our Little Drama Queen

I thought that I would share this with everyone. Yesterday while we were doing wedding stuff with Marcus and Ashley, we were standing at a jewlery counter and Kyla found a necklace that she just thought she had to have. She was trying to convince Nana to buy it for her, so she said "I need it so that all of my dreams will come true." Needless to say she got her necklace. We love our little drama queen.

Take Two

Well everyone I am trying again. This is the second attempt to get this up and running. I hope you all check it out everyday to stay caught up in the day to day happenings in the James family.
